Intellectual Property Rights Cell

The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell was established in CKCET to facilitate the protection of intellectual property, promote innovation, and support the development of products based on research and creative endeavours.

We are proud to announce that C K College of Engineering and Technology has successfully published a total of 5 patents. These patents represent the culmination of dedicated research and development efforts undertaken by our talented academic community. The diversity and depth of these innovations underscore our institution’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and contributing meaningfully to the advancement of technology.

Furthermore, our dedication to promoting intellectual property awareness and protection is exemplified by the successful organization of 9 comprehensive programs. These programs were designed to educate our students and faculty on the importance of IPR, providing valuable insights into the processes of patenting, trade marking, and copyrighting. By conducting these programs, we aim to create a culture of innovation and responsibility, wherein the fruits of creative endeavours are safeguarded and respected.

The success of our IPR initiatives is a testament to the collaborative efforts of our research community, the diligence of our students, and the unwavering support from the administration. We believe that the protection of intellectual property is crucial not only for the growth of our institution but also for the larger cause of advancing knowledge and contributing to societal progress.

The Institute has created an ecosystem for research and innovation by developing desirable human resources for knowledge creation and dissemination to students and faculty members through various cells like the Research and Development Cell, the Institute Innovation Council, the Student Innovation Club, and the Entrepreneurship Development Club.

The Research and Development Cell primarily engages in publications, conferences, research grants, FDP, and other extension activities. For the year 2022-2023, published 25 research papers in reputed journals, and received 3 research grants of Rs.22,500 from government organizations.

The SIC club highlights the importance of student innovation. Around 70 students were certified for participating in various events at different colleges and 7 students won prizes in different events. CKCET Received a grant from AICTE for developing a students’ club fund of Rs.1,00,000/- under the Scheme for Promoting Interest, Creativity and Ethics among Students (SPICES).

The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell was established in CKCET to facilitate the protection of intellectual property, promote innovation, and support the development of products based on research and creative endeavors. Around 5 Patents were filed and Published and 9 programs were conducted related to IPR for the year 2022-2023.

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell was set up to improve the student community and society. The cell comprises more than 25% of students from all disciplines. An internal Smart India Hackathon was conducted, and around 150 students participated.

CKCET has also established CKTBI (CK Incubation Park) with the support of the Anna University Incubation Centre to nurture Innovation, Incubation, and Start-ups. Also, the CK-TBI will be the Incubation Hub of AIC-AU for all kinds of Innovation activities in Cuddalore district.

The IIC was established in 2019 to provide students with a more innovation and entrepreneurship-focused ecosystem. In the academic year 2022-23, over 66 activities (20 IIC activities, 06 MIC activities,28 self-driven and 12 Celebration Activities) were conducted and rated 3.5 stars.

The faculty& students are encouraged to take up research & developmental activities by utilizing the existing resources. Our center of Excellence on TVS Harita TECHSERV, National Instruments Lab, IoT lab have helped our students to develop necessary skills & develop innovative projects in various domains.
