DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has been an integral part of the Institute from the year 2002. The faculty members of the Department inspire our students to apply everything they learn in the practical sessions, giving them the confidence to engage in research activities in their later stages of life.
The bachelor’s degree program offered in the Department is approved by the AICTE and is affiliated to Anna University, Tamil Nadu. The present intake of students per class is 60 and we maintain 1:15 staff-student ratio, providing individual attention and quality education.
The Department has qualified faculty members with excellent academic records, imparting their skills and technical knowledge to students. The Department is also equipped with excellent laboratory facilities with state-of-the-art infrastructure.
The degree program offers a unique mix of electrical, electronics and computer related courses, enabling students to take up a professional career/higher studies in any of these areas. The Department produces competent electrical engineers who can cater to the dynamic needs of the Nation through excellence in technical education and research activities.

PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)
- Find employment in Core Electrical and Electronics Engineering and service sectors.
- Get elevated to technical lead position and lead the organization competitively.
- Enter into higher studies leading to post-graduate and research degrees. Become consultant and provide solutions to the practical problems of core organization.
- Become an entrepreneur and be part of electrical and electronics product and service industries.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs)
- Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
- Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of Mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
- Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
- Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
- Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
- The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)
On completion of Electrical and Electronics Engineering program, the student will have the following Program Specific Outcomes.
- Foundation of Electrical Engineering: Ability to understand the principles and working of electrical components, circuits, systems and control that are forming a part of power generation, transmission, distribution, utilization, conservation and energy saving. Students can assess the power management, auditing, crisis and energy saving aspects.
- Foundation of Mathematical Concepts: Ability to apply mathematical methodologies to solve problems related with electrical engineering using appropriate engineering tools and algorithms.
- Computing and Research Ability: Ability to use knowledge in various domains to identify research gaps and hence to provide solution which leads to new ideas and innovations
